Sadly, the KMT still acts like an occupational force and a parasite. And it still tries to sell the debunked #1countryt2systems model to Taiwanese, despite #HongKong having been fucked over by #China in #public.

Really, #KMT? Have your legislators been throwing pig entrails at #DPP legislators in #Taiwan's #LegislativeYuan to protest the import of US pork?

That's a new brand of disgusting. There really is no low that is low enough for the parasite known as the #KMT that is still leeching off the economy of the country.

In terms of #sustainability and its #carbonfootprint, #Taiwan scores very low - also due to it being an industrial powerhouse. But as an island with lots of high mountain areas, it has a fragile #ecosystem that it needs to take care of. Founded 23 years ago, the ecologist #GreenParty has failed to get enough votes to gain subsidies or a seat in the #LegislativeYuan last Saturday. Now its existence is in serious danger, which is bad news for Taiwan and its environment.

#HanKuoYu, the presidential candidate of the #KMT, not only got a beating in the elections for the presidency, losing by 18.5% to incumbent #TsaiIngwen. His party also lost all eight seats for the #LegislativeYuan in #Kaohsiung to the #DPP, adding to the humiliation as Han has been the mayor of that harbour city in the South of Taiwan since 2018. #Populism does not age well as big words need to be followed up by big deeds to avoid disappointment.

Congratulations to #TsaiIngwen for comfortably winning the presidential #elections in #Taiwan. Four more years to further the development of this democratic state and diverse society. Now the waiting starts for the results of the general elections for the #LegislativeYuan as the parliament of #Taiwan.

To better reflect the preferences of #Taiwan's citizens in the #LegislativeYuan and break the dominance of the two big parties, the #elections should move away from first past the post single-seat districts and towards proportional representation in the future. Naturally, the voting districts need to be drawn fairly for a proper result and a parliament that reflects its voters. #FarEast #democracy #elections2020
