#Germany has turned to #Greece with a proposal to hand over 100 #Greek #Leopard 1A5s currently in service to #Ukraine, and in return to receive modernized armored vehicles, - the #Greek edition of Flight. According to the publication, in exchange for the outdated #Leopard 1A5, #Greece can receive modernized #tanks from #Italian stocks on a one-to-one basis.

🔴 Almost 100 #Swissmade #Leopard 1 #tanks are being stored out in the open in #Italy following #Switzerland refusing to allow their transfer to #Ukraine, #Swiss public broadcasting organization #RSI reported on Aug. 26.

The #Swiss company that owns the #tanks, #RUAG, wanted to sell the tanks to #Germany for #Ukraine but the #Swiss government blocked the sale.

They have clearly worked on this, in #secret, to get it into the tree, with minimal #publicity. #Publishing the proposal in someone's personal Github repo, rather than in a #public place, is like Douglas Adams' "the notice was posted in the #lavatory in the unlit #basement where the #stairs are missing, behind a door with a 'beware of the #leopard' sign on it" situation.
