I’ve never seen “Les Miserables” live. I saw the movie, though. While I disagreed a little with some of the production … when it was over, I had to sit there, in the movie house, for about 10 minutes to gather myself emotionally.

At least to me, it was a very powerful film.

See to me this is just them getting in character. The cast are, after all, engaged in a spectacular and ultimately aesthetic pageantry of violence that actively dismisses the needs of those they ostensibly desire to help, caught up in their own hero narrative!
