A member of the Schulze-Boysen/Harnack #Resistance group with her husband Hans Coppi (executed on 22 December, 1942,) she was captured by the Gestapo & later guillotined.

I visited the @CWGC Thiepval Memorial a few years ago. A majestic, stately memorial that stands with great dignity on the Somme skyline. Very moving to look out across the fields from under the arches.

Born in Sardinia, he fought in the 3rd #GaribaldiDivision "Cichero", Brigade "Jori". He was shot in the head with other prisoners.

He died aged 19.

A partisan of the 7th #GaribaldiBrigade "GAP" (urban warfare unit), Renato was shot in Sabbiuno with his brother Mario & others.

He was 16.
