Oops, it seems #GOG (gog.com) forgot to update the #LetsEncrypt #certificate of their gog-statics.com domain, which expired this morning.

Celebrating Ten Years of #Encrypting the Web with #LetsEncrypt.
Today, according to Firefox data, 78% of pages loaded use #HTTPS. That’s tremendously improved from 27% in 2013 when Let’s Encrypt was founded.

English, larger audience.
#LetSEncrypt has a weird behavior with #nginx configuration files, it *sometimes* parses commented lines and fails.
Removing all comments fixes the problem.

In a training session last week, for Amazon enterprise solutions: "AWS Certificate Manager generates SSL certificates, and automates renewal when they expire. And it's free, part of your hugely expensive AWS bill!"
oh really, you mean like the not-for-profit #LetsEncrypt https://letsencrypt.org/ solved for the entire world years ago, gosh we must be smart for choosing AWS

🧐#computerkram

I've been looking for a way to manage https and SSL on my Tailnet, today I found such a solution by making use of Cloudflare, LetsEncrypt, Nginx Proxy Manager, NextDNS and Tailscale.

NOTE: I'm in the process of moving my DNS from hover.com to Cloudflare, so you might see some errors, in 24hrs it will work..

Rebuilt my #Kubernetes setup, got portainer installed, cert from #LetsEncrypt and deployed some apps. Probably need to write a blog post about it. Multiplatform container building because the cluster is 4 raspberry pies.
Also got my UPS connected by USB to my Dell R720 with a Synology NAS as a client and need to set up some other machines as clients to do a test power failure and see graceful shutdown working correctly.
Can anyone help decrypt this .cpk file? Here is the link:https://mega.nz/folder/umBEUA6C#uUvHWbIyPvGg0T3d-gfXrQ #letsencrypt
May or may not have forgotten to renew my SSL cert for this oops :o Sorted now!
Every time I use #letsEncrypt I'm made nostalgic for the old days where I used to PAY for a much worse experience...
At some point in my life I really need to make sure #letsencrypt certs update automatically.
The #LetsEncrypt year end letter is a good read https://letsencrypt.org/2022/12/05/ed-letter-2022.html
New to me is #DivviUp: A privacy-respecting system for aggregate statistics https://divviup.org/
So I started my day by browsing /r/neurodiversity
...checked out some post that was interesting(it got spicy for me personally when the word #neurotypes was mentioned)
...so I wanted to check where else it was posted, turns out it was also posted at /r/AutismTranslated/
That got me interested extra much...I noticed one of the moderators posting a comment about another subreddit called /r/NDCouples but I didn't go that far.
I checked out instead the subreddit's description of why /r/AutismTranslated/ was created, so it led me to a twitter post by bird site user "mykola"(who got his own #MastodonInstance)
This site uses #LetsEncrypt for its #https...
He can be found on "the bird site" and his Mastodon instance.
Also found on #GitHub and has also made something for #Mastodon which is a #MastodonBot called "ambassador" which is described as:
"A mastodon bot for showing the world the best your instance has to offer."

UPDATE: everything looks great except that my nginx config has something wrong with it and the fun part of that is that we have a custom-compiled nginx build (for file-upload module) that has to run every time we re-build and it takes a....long....time.
nginx config troubleshooting is, therefore, the most suspenseful troubleshooting.

getting ready to run our tiny app https with letsencrypt. I know this part should be simple, but for me, nothing's simple. We're using rootless podman/kubernetes, containers for nginx, postgres, hasura, a couple of node processes, and this lumai/odinson rest api; I think we'll need to use the pv mount for nginx, with the ssl setup in our nginx.config? The certificates need to be stored inside the persistent volume, right?🤞 😬

@ben @JubalBarca I have loved and used #letsencrypt since it was in beta. It is absolute Bae and @josh @MailInABox was my first experience with it if I recall. Or was it #wordpress? Hard to remember as they were around the same time when I was tinkering with the cloud for the first time on #digitalocean. You know I have to thank Josh a shit ton for my entire career come to think of it, and I have never really spoken to the dude. I would totally buy him a beer if I met him

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention.
One of the motivators for #Duppy, was off-the-shelf compatibility with #letsencrypt and #certbot - certbot ships with an #rfc2163 plugin.
So if you are hosting domains for people in a database and want them to be able to easily use DNS validation to obtain certs... this makes that possible without custom software on the user's side.
