Actually the #green performance was more impressive than your post suggests - they added +241 to win a total of 481 councillors - an increase of 50% - #labour achieved an increase of 22% and #libDem 33% - admittedly both from rather higher bases

Nah - you are not looking at where the LibDems made those gains - they are in the SW where it is always #libDem or #toriesOut

Had Scotland, London and Wales been holding locals there would have been many more #labour gains

In any event, a net loss for the Tories of over 1,000 - after they lost 1,600 in 2019 - puts them on the exit route in #2024GE

I think you are being a little harsh.... #labour have increased more than any other party in simple numbers - but I agree #greens are the standout

The shires swing more between #toriesOut and #libDem - and Wales, Scotland & London did not vote - had they done more places are Tory-Labour contests and there would been a different pattern

So far the only politicians I have seen directly criticise the EHRC and Badenoch have been Carla Denyer of #Greens and #LibDem peer Lynne Featherstone.

I believe that #Greens or #LibDems are the only two English parties that LGBT+ folks can rely on to some extent.

The silence from the rest of UK's politicians (not to mention quisling Keith's approval) is shocking.

Agreed - and #labour & #libDem parties will determine & communicate policy on the basis of a balance between electoral appeal and policy objectives as they deem best.... at present it does not appear that explicit advocacy of #rejoinEU is indicated which is why it is not happening....

I'm a #LibDem in the UK, and we've been the only major party in recent years to support trans rights almost unequivocally.

We do this not because it's politically popular but because, rooted in our ideological roots, we believe it's right.

At conferences, an overwhelming majority (>90%) have passed some of our trans rights policies. This is the major expression of Liberalism in the UK, and can be considered to reflect the views of most British Liberals.

I'm delighted and proud that tonight #Guildford Borough Council's Liberal Democrat-led Executive voted to adopt our new #ClimateChange Action Plan.

It's an ambitious blueprint to make our council net zero by 2030 and to work with, and enable, communities and businesses to do the same for our borough as a whole!
