Just spent half an hour trying to figure out why Microsoft Word for Mac on my corporate-controlled laptop insisted on comma-separated decimals in formatting boxes & would not allow dot-separated ones.

Went through all settings in Word – no way to change it.

Finally realised that it picks up the macOS system setting & whoever built the corporate image had chosen the 1.234.567,89 format instead of 1,234,567.89.

Even though the default language is English.

Ack.
