Ich hab ein Problem mit #Linux #LinuxMint: wenn ich den Computer in Bereitschaft schicke und dann wieder aufwecke (per Tastendruck oder so), wachen die Monitore (einer an HDMI, einer an DisplayPort) nicht mit auf. Sie erkennen nicht, dass es wieder ein Signal gibt (geben sollte???). Einen Tipp was man da machen kann? Falls das relevant ist: manchmal merkt der Monitor am DisplayPort auch nicht, wenn der Rechner hochfährt, ist aber inkonsistent, im Gegensatz zum Standbyproblem.

Is there a little Linux Mint Cinnamon wiki I can consult ? like a website of obscure to-dos to test it on

i feel like my own list of to-dos for Linux is too small and doesnt encompass everything; like what if i need to test something and find out i need to install other things first to make a certain function work? i dont want to spend segregated time troubleshooting every problem that comes up when i really need a less-common function; theres a place and time for these things!

okay. i set up linux mint cinnamon and zorin os 16 again, due to being unable to start them previously on virtualbox.

I am very happy with the UI for Zorin OS! it reminds me of the UI for an ipad. But after fiddling with the settings for a bit:

1. The locale and time format should not be the same. Just because the main language here isnt english doesnt mean i want the time/date format to *not* be in english.

I'm a newbie Linux user. As a newbie or just a regular computer using guy, why would I want to use an operating system that's more complex/harder to use or understand?

I'm glad I installed Mint instead of Ubuntu after reading this article. Even if the author is misinformed on a few issues, like the comments suggest. I want #easy. #YMMV

Mit Hilfe dieser kleinen Anleitung habe ich gestern mein Linux Mimt auf die Version 20.1 "Vanessa" aktualisiert.
Hat ohne nennenswerte Probleme funktioniert. 👍
Hat nur einige Stunden gedauert. Egal. Wofür hat man denn sonst einen ganzen Sonntag? 😉

Well, I updated #linuxMint to 21.1 and the cinnamon/mint menu became v slow and laggy

Turns out that somewhere along the line the screen reader was turned on and I didn't notice because I keep volume muted

turning off screen reader fixed menu responsiveness
