Yay new #Debian released recently with non deprecated #PHP packages. I want to upgrade but anxious of breaking my #Nextcloud instance.
Will try to get a backup server running before upgrading. Wish me luck 🤞

Yesterday's container shenanigans included:
- Downloading two #Jellyfin images (official and #LinuxServer) from Docker Hub
- Failing to get either of the images working (immediate crash, or never-ending errors)
- Discovering that #linuxserver categorically do not support #podman or #rootless #containers (although people have managed it with varying results)
- Realising I still don't really understand #SELinux and how it deals with permissions
Still some way to go...

Are you using @linuxserver.io base images for your container builds? Or forking our downstream images for your own use? Cool.
We've made some changes to how we handle branding to make it easy for you to add you own text/logo to the container init, give it a read: https://www.linuxserver.io/blog/brand-new #docker #containers #LinuxServer

Running your own #mastodon #instance seems to be one step forward, three steps back. I’ve been wanting to deploy through Docker.
Wanting to run B2 with my DNS through Cloudflare so that I don’t have any ingress charges, and can setup aggressive caching. SMTP is achieved through Amazon SES because it is the cheapest by far and seems much less sketchy.
#linuxserver has a container so might give that a go. They make great containers and are used throughout my Homelab.

What do people use for updating multiple #LinuxServer? I'm thinking I might setup #ubuntu landscape when it's released for 22.04 (or 20.04), the free license would cover my #homelab needs.
Ideally I'd like something graphical, although I might use #anisble if I can't find anything. The servers are #ubuntu and #debian. #SelfHosting #linux #InfoSec

So since the #LinuxServer Mastodon container is the one I'm using, does anyone know how to preserve your timeline after a container restart? Every time I restart it (and I'm updating it as updates are pushed to the default tag) I lose any activity on my Home timeline.
@Gargron I'm one of them. Finally managed to get an instance set up with the help of the #LinuxServer image and am glad to join the #fediverse at long last.
@victor I feel your pain. I just spun it up via #LinuxServer's container on my #Unraid server and my SSD is hurting.
