Mainframe, HEX and the Temporal Trouser Error
Summary:
In the ruins of the Hub Mainframe is bored now that Torchwood is gone. Then she gets the message +++ Divide By Cucumber Error. Please Reinstall Universe And Reboot +++ and things become a bit more interesting again.

I just realized that my last #Livejournal post was actually my last #Twitter post before I deleted my account. Years ago my first Livejournal post marked an end to my #usenet posts. Usenet had replaced my #email groups. Email groups replaced #AOL #messageboards. Somewhere in there was my brief time on #Myspace. #Time moves on. #musk just pushed that evolution ahead a little faster with his greed. #evolution #threads

The only perfect social media site to ever exist was #livejournal.

I have some #Pillowfort invite codes for anyone interested in long form blogging focused social media, akin to both #LiveJournal and #Tumblr.

There's a cozy and wholesome games community there that's pretty swell, if I do say so myself (because I created it).

I did it. I've imported _everything_.

Well, everything from #livejournal, #dreamwidth, and my old band blog.

This new blog echos to Dreamwidth (and will do so 5eva really), _and_ can be FEDERATED.

But don't do it now - seriously, _do not_ - because it's still spitting out imported posts. If I don't mute it my old blog posts become my ENTIRE timeline.

Should be okay by tomorrow.

But not now. Holy gods, not now.

Same, @klepsydra. Same. I didn't realize how much I missed #LiveJournal until I settled in here back in November. I haven't yet found the same old fandom niches, but the vibe is wonderfully similar.

Has anyone ever got the #Wordpress importer for #Livejournal working against #Dreamwidth (which runs on the LJ codebase), and if so, what did you do?

Because I can't get Dreamwidth to accept my password come hell or high water and I _absolutely_ cannot tell you why.

y'know, i miss #LiveJournal's filter system.

Where you could sort your mutuals into filters; which meant that I could have one filter for diary nonsense, one for venting, another for spam etc.

I mostly used #twitter as a newsfeed; I rarely posted. It was not my community. So if I am a refugee, it's from old #LiveJournal, and from #GEnie’s #SFRT, the place where I really discovered #onlinecommunities back in the ‘90s. There’s still been nothing like it. Like #Bordertown. You had to be there, then.

Also can I complain? #LiveJournal gave me txt files. The #Twitter archive links to at #HTML sub site. And a ton of JavaScript files. Is there a way to scrape this #coding and #tech friends?

@onepict @hhardy01 it replaced #MySpace (which noone needs) and #Livejournal (which I still use once in a blue moon)

@tombofnull Hi, welcome to the #fediverse from the German #ttrpg side of it. For our #fantasy #worldbuilding we're always looking for #FediArt artists who let us use showcases of their art under a #creativecommons license. But I'm not commenting to ask for that - I'm commenting because for a brief moment I misread your #intoduction as "I'm on LJ" and thozught: "Cool, someone who started out on #LiveJournal back then as well. 😃 Sorry. 🙂
