Watching that #LloydCenter video yesterday got me thinking that this mall had the most 80s/90s possible outcome. "Yeah, so, we created a mall so big that when we finally enclosed it, we isolated a large population of finches that have spent the last 30 years of generations minmaxing for nesting on skylight sills and scavaging the food court floor."
I can't believe this is the first time I've found this rather locally famous #LloydCenter ad that ran on every channel in almost every commercial break for like 15 years on #Portland television. https://youtu.be/7_sucFpd6oc?t=19m45s
Before Mall of America, #LloydCenter was the largest mall. And now it's a #DeadMall. #Portland #Oregon

@maeve Yeah, I saw videos of #LloydCenter on dead mall channels and was pretty surprised to see what was the largest shopping mall in the world until #MallOfAmerica opened sitting basically deserted. I gotta say I saw the writing on the wall around the time I walked in once and saw it anchored by a picked over Toys R Us, a JC Penny and like, 3 Macy's because they took over The Broadway, Meier+Frank and something else really fast.
