Something to add to the #Green surge in the #LocalElections results.

The party was wiped out in the city of York, where they had been in coalition with the LibDems.

It also lost 12 seats in Brighton and Hove, the the place they have their only member of Parliament.

In other words they face the same problem other outsider parties do, of a backlash when they become the establishment.

In its best ever results UKIP got about 140 seats (2013) and about 160 seats (2014).

The Greens have already taken 209 and the count is still not over.

Reform UK aren't exactly setting the world on fire.

Six councillors so far while UKIP have lost 21. So that whole shitcup seems to have burned out now.

I'm not sure exactly what the voters in those six wards are expecting from their new councillors... I assume they must be located right in the trenches of the war on woke.

The Green Party has just won a majority on an English council, for the first time in history.

It now has 18 seats on Mid-Suffolk Council, where Green Party co-leader Adrian Ramsay is the parliamentary candidate for the next General Election.

Local election results: #Portsmouth lost 5 Tory councillors, but gained 4 independents, and the only thing that concerns me there is that one or more of those might well be in the "the Tories aren't nasty and self-serving enough for my liking" camp given Portsmouth's abysmal voting record in the past. Anyway, I've got a Portsmouth Independents Party local councillor now. So, yeah, yay?
