The remarkable Hermit's Castle, on the shore at Achmelvich near Lochinver in Sutherland. This concrete folly was built in 1950 and, so the story goes, used for just one weekend before being abandoned. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/lochinver/hermitscastle/index.html

A deer wandering through #Lochinver yesterday.
Interestingly he still has last year's antlers. The other stags we saw were growing this years antlers.

We travel 10 miles west by road to Lochinver, the largest settlement on the west coast of Scotland north of Ullapool. The village and its harbour have grown around the inland, eastern end of Loch Inver. The harbour has been enlarged several times, most recently in 1992.
