I solved a minor problem in my life.

Newer music from Bandcamp in the ogg format wouldn't play on my Denon stereo streamed from my #LogitechMediaServer over airplay.

I was baffled because older ogg files worked fine.

I finally had the clever idea of "turn on logging, and read the logs"

Which revealed that something was confused about the size of the album art.

Considering the stereo's display can't display images, I just turned sending art off and now my music will stream.

I've noticed newer music tends to have higher resolution album art, and also that some other older embedded systems have trouble dealing with music files containing large art blobs in the metadata.

For people still using ing #LogitechMediaServer to stream to #SqueezeBox devices and buying music from Bandcamp what file format are you using?

(I've mostly been downloading oggs but I think some of my devices struggle to play some of the files)

Seriously thinking of tinkering with #mopidy and #snapcast for my home multi room audio.
I currently use #LogitechMediaServer and various #RaspberryPi clients around the house with DACs attached to amps. I never even thought of modipy until I read @neil #jellyfin toot. 🙄
Anyone else have experience and pros / cons ??

@oohshiiiny my home server is built around a mini itx celeron N2950 running Debian.

I'm using the community Debian packages for the #LogitechMediaServer

It took me like 1.5 to 2 hours to make the Ethernet cable correctly, but the squeezebox radio in the kids room now no longer needs to use it's extremely flaky wifi radio.

Hopefully it'll stop disconnecting from the network at the slightest provocation.

If I'm feeling generous perhaps having ~15 2.4 GHz wifi networks visible is a more challenging environment than it was designed for.

I just don't want to call it a clock radio now since it's hardwired. It's more a clock music box?

Habe #snowflake auf meinem #raspberrypi installiert. Läuft selbst auf dem Modell 2B praktisch ohne zusätzliche Last zu verursachen. Da ist neben #pihole und #LogitechMediaServer noch genug Luft für weitere tolle Software.

Als Zuspieler wird #LogitechMediaServer verwendet, ob sich da aber Spotify iwie einbinden lässt weiß ich nicht...
