Low Traffic Neighbourhoods evaporate traffic by about a third, which benefits everyone including vehicle drivers.

In terms of traffic displacement, LTNs are broadly neutral, increases and reductions of traffic on peripheral roads balance each other out.

There are roadworks on my road at the moment, working effectively as a temporary modal filter preventing through-access - and it's great given there are no speeding drivers racing down the road. As far as I know this is causing precisely zero problems for residents too, given access is possible either side of the works. There's certainly nothing on Facebook that I've seen.

A permanent restriction would be good and workable I think.

Time for an #Introductory toot.

Work as a Project Manager in the HE sector, knocking down, building new and refurbishing existing buildings.

I'm also a Local Councillor, and have recently launched a #SchoolStreet and a #LowTrafficNeighbourhood in our Ward. And we've exciting plans to retrofit some social housing.

So I've decided to use this site to post and ask questions about the intersect of all of these roles.
