Our first #goal is to have an #InstallScript, because that is something I have experience with already (and should therefor be attainable before the end of the year!). It probably won't have all the bells and whistles I'd like to have (like the granular #Btrfs #subvolumes e.g.), but at least set up #AlpineLinux, a user and the #LuminaDesktop 🙂👍

Hello everyone, #introductions are in order I presume.

Hi, I'm the social media account of the #PyreneeLinux project. A project that has the aim to provide desktop experiences based on #AlpineLinux. We are just starting out, but our prime focus will be #LuminaDesktop. We think that desktop has the same spirit as Alpine, with its minimal dependencies.

#GNOME & #KDE spins will also be in the works, but only as community effort. This account is run by this guy: @RyuKurisu 🙂👍

So after talking with @sakkara & @sotolf I decided I wanted to try out :void: #VoidLinux and after playing with :alpine: #AlpineLinux I discovered #LuminaDesktop which I quite liked in its minimalism. Then I discovered #ProjectTrident actually combined Void+Lumina+ZFS (and I personally believe everyone should use a COW filesystem). But its latest release is from Valentine's Day 2020! Could I install it and update it to use the more updated packages from Void? :thaenkin: #HelpWanted #Linux

@tenacity @postmarketOS @sfr yes, as a daily driver. I've got KDE Plasma running after some troubles (apparently it requires a user with a $HOME that they own 😅) and I don't have a lot of software requirements, so I'm even trying out #LuminaDesktop but apparently it doesn't have hardware rendering so KDE's System Monitor boots but doesn't render anything and Alacritty doesn't even show up 😬👍

Okay so I'm trying out #LuminaDesktop on #AlpineLinux and I can't seem to launch #Alacritty. It did however work in KDE Plasma :thonking:

I did notice KDE SystemMonitor mention not having hardware rendering, could that be the issue? I haven't tried starting alacritty from #XTerm to see what errors it spits out (its been a long day).

Also, I can't seem to add a Ctrl+Alt+T shortcut to open xterm (let alone alacritty) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
