Here's another interesting yet not surprising fact about the new 6E Mac: it can't see 6 GHz-only SSIDs (i.e., no 2.4/5 GHz RNR). WiFi Explorer Pro 3 will only find them if you use passive scan mode. #m2pro #wifi6e

Had an interesting chat with an #Apple specialist about which model of #MacBookPro to go for. His advice was upgrade the RAM rather than the processor if you can since the 10-core #M2Pro is already optimised for performance and RAM will likely be the first bottleneck you hit.

Similarly, the main advantage of the #M2Max is its increased memory bandwidth rather than processing power, which is the same as the 12-core #M2Pro, or even the extra GPU cores, which are only relevant if you’re doing heavily graphics-intensive work such as 8K video editing.

In practice, the base model is probably more than adequate for my needs, but since I also intend to use the machine for audio/video production, my instinct was to go for the fastest possible processor for future-proofing. But perhaps that isn’t the right choice. Any MBP users able to comment? #AppleSilicon #noxp

Geeking out over today’s #Apple hardware announcements. The #MacBookPro gets a welcome spec bump (I want one!), but the real revelation is perhaps the updated #MacMini.

The unsung hero of Apple’s desktop lineup, Mac mini with #M2 or #M2Pro makes for an impressively capable workstation despite its diminutive size. So much so that I’m surprised Apple didn’t change the name to Mac Plus or just #Mac. (I guess #MacPro is already taken.)
