Off the tops now, we're walking parallel to the #M62 motorway amid golf course and scrubland.
First pic, towards the house at the back, there once was a #Roman fort there at a place called Slack. A minor one, presumed to have been a stop off on the way to bigger forts at, for example, Adel in #Leeds. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slack_Roman_Fort
There was a Roman road leading here: there's evidence of it near Crimea Lane where we started. #history
