Got a family member in who's hard to gift for?

Maybe you can give Cambridge HEART a donation in their honor!

An anonymous donor is generously matching donations up to $150k so your money goes extra far right now.

Also a great use for that tax windfall money

Putting this one in a separate post to hashtag it. @litakelley is a fantastic photographer who documents activism in the area, and would very much appreciate donations via cash app through the post below.

An excellent place to send your tax windfall (and other) dollars!

If you know of any organizations doing good work in that could use some cash, please reply here and we'll boost so people know where to send their tax windfall $$.

Fun fact: because the refund is based on taxes, poor folks got little or no windfall. The poorest folks will get nothing. That's right: $0. While well-off folks will get thousands. It's the definition of regressive.

Massachusetts government may not care to spend those tax dollars on its residents in need, but Massachusetts residents know better and do better! That money belongs where it can help marginalized folks. How awesome would it be if all that extra money went to mutual aid organizations to buy winter clothes, hot food, and shelter, or to social justice activists to help fight for equality in our neighborhoods?

@amber this would be a great opportunity for more well-off folks in Massachusetts to use their tax windfall $$ for some good. Those checks should be coming in soon!

folks who are well off financially: have you gotten your tax surplus refund yet? Make a plan to donate your tax windfall to your community. Even if the government can't do this properly, we can help make sure people's needs are met.

Some good ideas:
* Local food bank
* Local shelter
* Mutual aid organization
* Individual GoFundMe accounts of Black, Brown, or Indigenous folks

We'll spend the next day or two boosting mutual aid asks and local organizations that could really use that tax windfall.
