I just wanr to avoid using ODDs and burning.new since - like with 3,5" FDDs - Quality of #Recordables has gone down the drain and there are no #MDISC-#ReWriteables...

Furthermore #DVDRAM doesn't work reliably as bottable media, if at all.

Anyone have experience of M-Discs? I guess we can't prove longevity yet, but how about data reliability? I've got a writer, but not tried it with M-discs (yet).

It's 2021 and I'm thinking about buying an optical drive for my PC… Blu-ray seems like a good way to archive/backup some things. Anyway do someone has an experience with BD-R? I know I probably should go with HTL discs (inorganic dye). Or should I choose M-DISC? What do I have to look for when choosing a drive (I'll be using it under Linux)?
