@quixoticgeek Here in Southeastern #Wisconsin, we are years into the "I-43 North-South Expansion" project where they are bulldozing homes to add more lanes while public pressure to remove I-794 (https://www.rethink794.com) is building. Back in 2002, #MKE removed the Park East Freeway (https://city.milwaukee.gov/DCD/Projects/ParkEastredevelopment/Park-East-History) and only good things came from that. I saw the DOT at the State Fair yesterday, lobbying for the i-94 expansion. I really hope that it fails.

What we spend subsidizing cars is obscene.

Living over on the East Side, the smell of cinnamon and dangerously rich batter used to start rousing the entire block just before sunrise --- and clue me in to the fact that maaaaybe, just maybe, I'd stayed up a smidge too late again.

@LexPendragon US customs agent at #YYC port of entry asked me to log into work computer on a trip to #MKE for training courses. Probably to make sure I really didn't need a visa. That was the only time I have been asked to log into a device.

Interestingly even when I had to process a TN1 visa application they never even looked at my devices...they just made lots of phone calls and searches from their own computers and phones lol

I have never been asked to give access to any device from a Canadian border agent at any port of entry.

I can't remember the last time I went through security or customs with any device powered up actually. Years ago my aunt almost missed a flight when she packed her powered up phone in her checked luggage and someone called it just as it was going through x-ray and it apparently freaked out the scanner and she was brought in an office while an officer did a complete and thorough search of all her bags!

Since then I turn off my mobile as soon as my boarding pass is scanned LOL
