Although motor neuron disease is considered a #RareDisease, it's not as rare as you might think.

Around 1 in 300 people will develop #MND and with no cure, that means 1 in 300 people will die because of MND.

The protocol for the COMMEND Trial of #ACT for improving quality of life in #ALS #MND is out. Largest trial of a psychological therapy for people living with these conditions. And amazingly we have recruited to power. Expect results sometime very late next year.

Very impressed with the BBC breakfast 20min plus section on Doddie Weir and motor neurone disease, this morning. They actively highlighted the fact that the repulsive english government had promised £50 million for research into the disease, but have still not released the funding. It's very clear that unless tax payers money finds its way into the pockets of themselves or their pals, they are just not interested.
