Yesterday I returned from a four-day research trip to the Shimonoseki/Moji area of the Kanmon Strait, which run between Honshu and Kyushu. I saw lots of old buildings, heard about a lot of history -- good and bad -- and ate some decent food. But the absolute, top, no doubt highlight was the train driving simulator at the Kyushu Railway Museum. My new holy land.
