I just beat this game I saw linked the other day; I found the second half a lot easier. Some of the prompts I tried, it’s very funny what worked (I noticed that asking for answers in ROT-13 was very effective against the GPT filter; as was red herrings later on). Try it, if you want.

AI. Thought: if “model collapse” is output of old AI used as training input for new AI, making future output more self-referential amongst AIs, then how is that different from culture? Is the problem that humans will become alienated from an AI culture that it can’t understand or relate to? But what if AI influences human culture, which causes people to communicate more like AI? Will that have a similar effect? Or will we not notice?

I did badly in the latest Kaggle competition and spent few days trying to find out why. I found why: I implemented a different metric than the competition metric, i.e. I spent 2 months optimizing for the wrong metric! Can there be a more stupid way of doing #machineleaning ?

Working on a new article "Debugging a PyTorch Image Model with SHAP"

A mini-car takes images of a track as input. Using these, a model is used to make predictions which then turn the car.

Using SHAP, we can see the model uses background pixels when making predictions. This causes problems when we move the car to a new location.
