What learning algorithm is in-context learning? Investigations with linear models arxiv.org/abs/2211.15661
…investigates the hypothesis that transformer-based in-context learners implement standard learning algorithms implicitly, by encoding smaller models in their activations, and updating these implicit models as new examples appear in the context.

Cool, happy to see that Scikit-learn, a toolkit I have used since a lot of years, has opened an account in the Fediverse.

Always looking for software/Algo’s/tools that aide in !

This can (does) include prediction, and retention time prediction!

None of them work really well now, but accumulating these tools for the tool kit could make the difference someday! Really looking for !

I'm a grad student at RIT interested in adversarial learning, safety, and fairness for visual models. Would love to connect with other folks on here.

I'm looking forward to the resurgence of Academic Twitter on this node. My timeline on the bird app is now filled with analyses of the (disastrous) decisions being taken by the current management.

@hypa they are not just "some websites" though, it is getting trendy in all shapes and forms. For instance:

github.com/divamgupta/diffusio

Existance of such tools are not necessarily a bad thing. Observant and thoughtful user might genuinely get interested to and start learning, but for a large majority this is yet another toy. Consequently it will not lower the barrier to entry, but rather synonymizing (if that's a word, if not I'm coining it here 😁) ML to "gimmick".
