#AppleDay: When they were again weakened by hunger and thirst, #Mael Duin and his seafarers arrived at a large forested island of the #Celtic #Otherworld. Here were many fruit trees bearing countless golden apples. These were consumed by pig-like, burning animals.

On his sea voyage #Mael Duin passes another island of the #Celtic #Otherworld, which was surrounded all around by high cliffs. There was an immeasurably long and equally narrow strip of forest there. On a tree branch that Mael Duin breaks off as the boat sails very close to the cliffs, three apples hang after three days. Each of them was food for them for 40 days.
