Today, the Iranian national men's football team, Team Melli, remained silent when the Iranian national anthem was played at their match against England. It's understood as a mark of solidarity with protestors. Some Iranian fans, including people who traveled from Iran, held up signs reading "Women, Life, Freedom."

They had a stage and they used it.

Iran has seen unrest since the death of 22-year-old #Mahsa #Amini in September this year. The country's religious #police arrested her for not properly covering her head. She died at the police station, possibly due to police brutality.
