Much to the surprise of most dissenters of #Malthus' writings he did have a third scenario, which we like to describe as #ConvivialSufficiency.

For us it is a question of how we get there. Is it via massSurveillance and #ComputerSaysNo AI. Or do we just embrace less for *all*. We think #bitcoin's public (and optionally private) ledger is a good way to opt out and embrace #LimitsToGrowth in our view, with its limited supply.

Can we acheive it without neoFeudal #dotCons?

@shrugdealer the malthusian argument is scapegoating the poor masses so capitalism could go on destroying our lives for another year or century. whenever people ask me how could we feed so many billions of people i ask in return if they know how much of the food produced globally ends in the trash? and how much in europe? in the usa, in places where capitalism has toxicated the minds of people?

We understand #Malthus produced three basic scenarios. Two are disaster the third is we all realise its a #finitePlanet and control how much sperm is collectively injected into the subset of all possible vaginas.

We are hoping for the third, yes.

It bares repeating to you, #Malthus predicted a third direction for humanity, in which we respect our #planetaryBounds.

Also, #LimitsToGrowth have been showing themselves in ways you seem not aware of. AlbertBartlett is celebrated for a reason and we strongly encourage anyone reading this to check out his lecture.

There's also #SpaceShipEconomy. We are not huge fans of #SteveKeen's #DebtJubilee ideas but he is right about climate issues

His work wasn't all doom and gloom.

So much bad #rascism back then.

Many negative ideas are put on #ThomasMalthus as #Malthusian but Malthus did provide positive scenarios around #education.

Educated #societies with access to #contraception and #familyPlanning services achieve lower #fertility - a great and #humane #scenario that #Malthus thought about.

#Elites don't want us knowing this. They want us to associate #populationGrowth with good and Malthus with evil, a from of #trickery for more hapless #workers.
