A Plantain Squirrel (Callosciurus notatus) spotted on a nearby branch at MacRitchie Reservoir, Singapore, on 27 May 2022. It saw me, probably considered me harmless, and went back to feeding.

A large, muddy Banded Pig (Sus scrofa vittatus) spotted near the Lorong Halus exit near Coney Island, Singapore, on 30 Jan 2022. We waited until it went back into the bushes before walking down the road, but keeping an eye out for it, in case it reappeared.

A Common Treeshrew (Tupaia glis) spotted at Dairy Farm Nature Park, Singapore, on 14 Jan 2022. Nice to be able to see it in the forest, after spotting numerous squirrels there.

The Treeshrew is seldom seen compared to the squirrels in the forest areas.

Expression on the juvenile Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis) seems to ask, "Why do humans like to take photos of me while I'm feeding?" 🙂 Spotted at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, Singapore, on 28 Nov 2021.

(Apologies, but I've deleted my previous post and reposted this due to a request.)

Had the privilege to finally see the Raffles’ Banded Langur (Presbytis femoralis femoralis) at Central Cachement Nature Reserve on 4 Nov 2021. They were moving from tree to tree while feeding. One was even 'chilling out' on a branch. :-)

These langurs are considered vulnerable (IUCN Status).

A Slender Squirrel (Sundasciurus tenuis) spotted at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park on 3 Oct 2021. It came down, rummaged through the undergrowth and found something to eat.

Slender Squirrels are forest inhabitants and not seen as often as the more common Plantain squirrel locally.

I usually pay a visit to the Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bats (Cynopterus brachyotis) that roost at the Sungei Buloh Wetland Centre, Singapore. I also sometimes spot a mother with a baby. Taken on 25 Sept 2021.

Banded Pigs (Sus scrofa vittatus), juvenile and adult, spotted at Windsor Nature Park, Singapore, on 17 Sept 2021. A fence was between them and me, so it was safe to take these shots from close range.

Banded Pigs, or Wild Boards, can be seen in local nature areas and can be dangerous to humans if care is not taken upon encountering them.

Spotted this lovely Sunda Colugo (Galeopterus variegatus) on a tree next to the path at Chestnut Nature Park on 6 June 2021. It was also the centre of attention of people who were passing by. Last time I spotted one was in 2019.

Sometimes known as Flying Lemurs, they are not lemurs nor do they fly. But they can glide impressive distances with the flaps attached to their limbs.

It's my birthday today, 7 Feb 2021, and nature indulged me by giving me a look at a local rarity, the Lesser Mousedeer (Tragulus kanchil). Spotted at Chestnut Nature Park, Singapore. Such a nice present. :-)

The Lesser Mousedeer is considered 'Critically Endangered' and in local folklore is considered a crafty creature ("Sang Kanchil' in Bahasa Malaysia).

Two Smooth-coated Otters (Lutrogale perspicillata) spotted crossing the dam at the entrance to Singapore's Coney Island on 16 Nov 2020. Before moving off into the reservoir behind the dam, they left behind some 'marks' as can be seen in the last two photos. 🙂
