From #Sothebys sale of 23rd Oct, 2019 this circa 1780 AD #Pahari painting from #Guler or #Kangra #HimachalPradesh attributed to a master artist of First generation after #Nainsukh and #Manaku.
Catalogued at £200,000 to £300,000, realised price is not known.
According to W G Archer, 'One of the greatest achievements of Kangra Paintings.

#PanditSeu (1680-1740) of #Guler #HimachalPradesh was the foremost artist of #Pahari paintings. His 2 sons #Nainsukh and #Manaku were equally accomplished just as the grandchildren, known as the 'Third Generation after Nainsukh and Manaku', spreading the art to #Basohli, #Nurpur, #Jammu #Kangra etc....the #PunjabHillStates.
A self portrait of his, made in 1735 is now in #GovernmentMuseumChandigarh.
