I took this photo of a killer whale (Orcinus orca) as it swam by our research vessel during a 2019 whale tagging campaign in the Santos Basin, Brazil. Our encounter with this small pod of killer whales was brief, but their behavior that day suggested they were likely mammal-eaters! Questions? #AskMeAnything
