I am a little over halfway through Marlon James' Moon Witch, Spider King. This book is amazing! Every bit as good a read as Black Leopard, Red Wolf. Highly recommended. #MarlonJames #MoonWitchSpiderKing

Last night I started reading Moon Witch, Spider King by Marlon James. From page 1, a fantastic read. I am 50 pages in and will be savoring this book through the month of February.

After stopping halfway & restarting from the beginning, I finally completed the #audiobook for #BlackLeopardRedWolf by #MarlonJames. This #book is best enjoyed during all-day chores & long walks, not in tiny bits while #commuting.

Hurray for so many #Queer #POC characters. Shame our hero’s mommy & daddy issues made him such a jerk. Lots of fun mythic #African monsters & magic, though.

I could go on…

I’m 1/3rd of the way into the #audiobook but may need to start over. I was unprepared for how the #story loops back on itself & got lost trying to hear it in bits on my commute. This one’s for when I spend a weekend doing chores.

What I’ve enjoyed so far: great narrator, #Queer protagonists, funky #monsters, a #Fantasy #Africa setting. Not keen on the #GrimDark but it’s overshadowed by all the rest.

On payday I finally got the #fantasy #audiobook “Black Leopard, Red Wolf” by #MarlonJames, but haven't started listening to it, because something called "Gideon the Ninth" by #TamsynMuir was on sale. No idea what it's about, but the description had me at #Lesbian #Space #Necromancer. Haven't heard that one yet either, because I learned "The Memory Librarian" #SciFi stories by #JanelleMonae existed, and I splurged so I could hear more about the #DirtyComputer. This is a good "problem" to have.

I just finished the #AudioBook for “The Light Brigade” by #KameronHurley. It was a wild ride; Time travel #SciFi makes me dizzy sometimes.

Before that it was “The Raven Tower” by #AnnLeckie, a #Fantasy #novel featuring a #Trans hero, where the author further explores some of the ideas from her “Ancillary Justice” trilogy —and a lot more.

I’m thinking about buying “Black Leopard, Red Wolf” by #MarlonJames next payday, just because it sounds pretty cool.
