Just found out about these #marvels: the #Shukhov towers, designed and built by #Vladimir_Grigoryevich_Shukhov (Russian: #Влади́мир_Григо́рьевич_Шу́хов #Шу́хов). https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Shukhov_Tower#Gallery
These things are basically #wireframe designs realised in #steel struts, hundreds of metres tall. Intended (and briefly used) as #electricity #transmission #pylons.
