Re #hashtags. We have a pinned toot about it, it's that important.

On fedi, use #milkshakeDuck, not simply 'milkshake duck'.

In addition to being able to import toots, there *does* need to be a way to do #booleanSearch for #hashtags.

The #ExploreTab is indeed one of the most toxic #MastodonRegressions that #MastodonDevs have introduced. Also forced javascript. We can see the bots are pumping the #turderatti with instant "#fame".

Interestingly, ninety percent of people complaining about #techLayoffs at the #dotCons were in that joining-window also.

We came from Falsebook and we adjusted quickly to the culture of Fediverse not using #quoteReplies.

We quickly appreciated that although we may've been able to grow on Falsebook from it that it does also breed #oneUpmanship and #toxicity.

We doubt #MastodonDevs care what we say. They are still not enforcing #AGPLv3 against #HellaDoge, despite our calls.

As the Mastodon webapp source code turns out to be more complicated to work with than hoped.

Does anyone have a solution to just use build the webapp and use it with a proxied host?

What I mean: Webapp is hosted locally, e.g. on localhost:7007 and requests to the api get forwarded to an instance e.g. mas.to.

Can anyone recommend some good reading on the reasons why #search in #Mastodon is less effective, less able to "see through" all the activity on different instances? Is that an inherent issue with its decentralized nature or is there hope it might improve? #discovery is just harder here, which I imagine will be a problem for all the #journalists joining the platform who used Twitter to find news as it happens. I would just like to pay tribute to the #MastodonDevs and #mastodonadmins who had the wisdom and skill to build a platform that could handle such a massive influx of new users with barely any issues. Not just anyone could pull that off.

It would be great that in a future version it would have a visual indication if you follow the people that show up in your Home feed by retoot or whatever means, instead of having to check their profile.

This is a huge leap forward for what it means to use a computer and a network.

Despite past concerns and or misunderstandings (and probably future ones) we would like to thank #MastodonDevs and @Gargron for all the work they've done to date, and all #Fedizens generally.

This is one small step for #Trump — but one giant leap for #freedomSoftware.
