I usually end every December by going through the list of the best & most acclaimed books of the year, and I pick one to read from an author I've never heard of.

This year, it ended up being "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow", by #GabrielleZevin.

I'm halfway through and it's a blast.

#amreading I am only about 25% done with this book but it is really good. It is about 800 pages so it is going to be awhile before I finish it. So far the story is about a young man who is a worker building the Eiffel Tower. There are also shorter stories thrown in. It is the history of Paris. Just finished this book! It only took me 4 days 💖

It’s a love story wrapped up in interplanetary conflict. I loved the character development, the world-building, & the social commentary (classism, racism, capitalism). I’m also always here for a Black girl getting loved on! I did feel like it started a bit more slowly than I would’ve liked, but it picks up as the story goes on. Overall, I’d give it a 3.75-ish/5!

A Book of Pagan Prayer by Ceisiwr Serith

Having come up in heavily christian and catholic culture and having rejected it, #prayer never had any sort of connection with me. That said, i really connected with this book because it provides prayers, #mantras, etc that fit into beliefs with gods and those without. It also has a large portion dedicated to ideas and thoughts when composing your own, which is great.
Overall i definitely recommend this if you're interested in prayer, #ritual, and making your own.
