For those not familiar with #MatchOfTheDay, it's a long-running #BBC recap of assoc. football hosted by former player Gary Lineker, who recently used Twitter to question the government's anti-immigration rhetoric as being reminiscent of that in 1930s Germany. The BBC is a state broadcaster and has in fact always been quite anti-left, yet for all the faux outrage about "cancel culture," like all right-wingers their people are such actual snowflakes that they attempted to censure Lineker for criticising the government on his personal Twitter account. So far, Lineker's colleagues have built up momentum to stand in solidarity with him. And it's ironic, given proud "centrist" Lineker's contributions to the high-profile opposition to Jeremy Corbyn's "left" politics that ultimately helped put this Tory government in power in the first place.
