From the team: "The process is underway to identify Scuderia Ferrari’s new Team Principal and is expected to be finalised in the new year."

History will show that turnover for the Ferrari team principal / sporting director role is...not low. Most tend to stay for an average of 3 to 4 years. The notable exception was Jean Todt, who oversaw the team for 15 years from 1993 to 2007. It was a golden time for Ferrari, with Schumacher winning the championship from 2000 to 2004 and Kimi Raikkonen in 2007.

If true, Binotto will leave Ferrari after 28 years with the company, having started back in 1995 as an intern there. He held the role of Scuderia Ferrari team principal for 4 years.
