Got to #SleuthOfBakerStreet in #Toronto for a book launch of Cold Snap by #MaureenJennings, set in 1930s #Toronto. Great seeing Maureen and some of out #MurdochMysteris friends. This book is third in the Paradise Cafe series; the first book was great, now I have two more to read.

@drfionamoore So I asked #MaureenJennings about household servants in late 19th-century #Toronto. Of course the Murdochs didn't have a household; they didn't get married until later. Maureen said that people at the Brackenreid's level might have a cleaning woman come in regularly, but live-in staff was rare unless people had a lot of money. Also, she said, for television, they couldn't show minor characters unless they used them in a scene. Not just money, only so many minutes per episode
