I'm a #webDeveloper working mainly in the #frontend (see also #MayYouLearn) but can also handle #Django or #NodeJS.

#ReactJS? #VueJS? If it has to be, even #Angular. Leave it to me. Or learn whatever you are using.

But I won't touch banking or insurance. My moral compass points the other way.

I insist on #psychologicalSafety. My main motivation to look for #SMB (up to 100 employees).

Instead I observe the current landscape becoming more and more complex.

Way too much JavaScript. For recreating problems that are already solved.
Using frameworks designed for audiences most of us will likely never reach.

PHP is widespread, too.

I've only learned some basics.
Enough to tweak code to produce the HTML I need.
But no frameworks whatsoever.

(That doesn't stop recruiters, though 🙄)

Okay, time for the first entry of #MayYouLearn!

Building a web UI often starts with an empty HTML document to me.

Sure, there are frameworks. But let's start with the foundation.

The great thing of web development is the „Holy Trinity”: Text Editor, Terminal and Web Browser.

By today, you might even get away with a web browser only!

What amazed me is that it's possible to develop a website without a laptop.
On the go I use Markor for that:

To me, that means many more opportunities to learn 😻

I was thinking about sharing my knowledge this month under #MayYouLearn (with a pun on the day after tomorrow ;-) )

I'll focus on web UIs.
From #HTML #CSS and #JavaScript over to #HumanCenteredDesign to #Storytelling and #Psychology.

Basically, giving a look into what goes into building an interface.
