For me, this is a new way of thinking about the phenomena of modern #society that conservative people call immoral. And I agree with Terence #McKenna.

“We have gone sick by following a path of untrammelled rationalism, male dominance, attention to the visible surface of things, practicality, bottom-line-ism. We have gone very, very sick. And the body politic, like any body, when it feels itself to be sick, it begins to produce antibodies or strategies for overcoming the condition of disease. And the 20th century is an enormous effort at self-healing. Phenomena as diverse as surrealism, body piercing, psychedelic drug use, sexual permissiveness, jazz, experimental dance, rave culture, tattooing, the list is endless.”

@CiaoBruno @RememberUsAlways I participated in a several day conference with #McKenna in 1997 in Monterey. Laura Huxley (Aldous' wife) was also there. Huxley was 85 at the time telling amazing stories from the 50's and 60's.

The conference was the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy. Amazing and so ahead of that era.

We were delighted to have Dennis #McKenna speak to our Exeter Research Colloquium on Psychedelics last month. He spoke on 'Psilocybin and the Origin of Consciousness—A re-examination of the ‘Stoned Ape’ Hypothesis'.
