HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! #Archaeogaming is 10 years old today! On June 9, 2013, Andrew Reinhard launched archaeogaming.com (on Blogger!), which is currently maintained by Kaitlyn Kingsland. Here's a link to the very first post, which considers the question: what even is video game #archaeology

#Archaeogaming YouTube and Twitch content-of-the-day:
In 2018 to coincide with the publication of the Archaeogaming book, Andrew Reinhard made a 13-minute video covering the basics of video game archaeology—everything from reception studies to retrogaming. It's kind of ridiculous, but does explain the basics in a fun way:

Records from the 2014 excavation of the Atari Dump Site in Alamogordo, New Mexico are available as Open Access through the Digital Archaeological Record (tDAR): https://core.tdar.org/project/459204/atari-dump-site-alamogordo-new-mexico-usa
Resources currently include the manifest of the recovered games, Ebay auction data from Alamogordo's sale of the assemblage, and pre-excavation plans and sketches (1983–2014). Future funding will pay for hosting hundreds of images from the excavation and cataloguing.
