If you GM OSR or adjacent games, what megadungeons have you run, as opposed to read/played? I've GMd Temple of Elemental Evil (*with* the nodes....) and Stonehell but that's it.

Curious which ones worked or not for your tables.

I've been thinking of running a #megadungeon as a sort of "pick up game" at a FLGS. I would show up every Saturday (or whatever day) and run the dungeon for whoever shows up to play.
What would be a good megadungeon for this sort of thing? Like I said, I'm thinking more of a "funhouse" that may or may not have a deep backstory, but doesn't rely on it. I'm not too picky about what #retroclone it's written for, but I would be using an #osr retroclone for the ruleset.

Then #waterdeep #dungeon of the mad mage is one that I just don't think will suit my group, not to mention I found it pretty text heavy when reading it. If I did run a #megadungeon style game I think it would be #pathfinder emerald spire or the @KoboldPress hardcover scarlet citadel. I wish that @montecook ‘s Dungeon A Day site was still around. I don’t even think the PDFs are still for sale. But it was a great example of how an adventure could be presented in a non-traditional manner. Each room had its own web page, with links to lore articles and adjoining rooms. It was a cool experiment in alternative ways to present a dungeon, and I haven’t seen anything like it since.

One thing I decided for my Civ 6 inspired isle, is that wonders would turn into major adventure sites. Not always dungeons, but sometimes dungeons.

As I look over Orc (Babylon) lands, I realize that despite having only five cities, they have build ten wonders.

They had one more city and wonder, but the Humans conquered that.
