What do you mean why do you keep trying?
I'm holding my breath here. 🤷♀️
And I'm turning blue!
Yoda says:
Finish it, you must.
Seriously, I'm waiting to check it out. Any beta for us to play with? #apps #Mensago 😃
Working on #Mensago is hard, not gonna lie. Why do I keep trying? Why should you care? Can this actually make the world a better place? Hit the link to find out.
As prep to be a quasi-entrepreneur with the whole #Mensago thing, I've taken business courses to give me a bit of savvy to go with my technical knowledge. That includes a bit about #marketing.
I saw this on the shelf at WalMart today. It's. Literally. WATER.
There's a fine line between matching people to products and slimy, folks, and these guys didn't just step over the line. They launched over it in epic Parkour fashion. *facepalm*
Come on, seriously?

Four long months of shaving yaks and trying to find a decent styled text editor control for #Mensago Connect. TL;DR: there isn't one, but I found one I can live with for the moment.
Connect can have nice-looking notes and stuff now. Now to hunt some bugs.
Lately my work on #Mensago has felt less like being a developer and more of a career change into yak shaving.
Really don't want to have to implement a word processing component just so we can have basics like nice-looking text and pictures. *sigh*
@CharismaticBatman That was a fascinating read. I'm not huge into codecs except the benefits, but JXL genuinely sounds compelling. I'm definitely going to look into it further as a 4th supported format for SFTM and the #Mensago platform in general
Lately the road to getting #Mensago Connect has been a slow and tough one, but every once in a while, I hit a much-needed mini milestone.
Despite the decidedly not-great documentation for RichTextFX, I have put together the beginnings of a word processor. For a platform where easy-to-use, cross-platform rich text is the norm, this is an encouraging start.
#Mensago continues to move forward and overcome challenges, despite how long this year has been.
The notetaking part of #Mensago Connect is actually taking shape. I'm still learning as I go, but progress is progress. I can load, save, and update notes and there's basic support for multiple notebooks.
The tech stack? #Kotlin + TornadoFX + SQLite, and the stuff I've learned as a #Rust developer makes me very aware of ownership, allocations, and safety even if the language doesn't force me to. #WIN

The last few months have been hard, especially on the #Mensago front. Finding a good GUI toolkit to latch onto the #Rust backend I've written hasn't worked out well at all. Once again, my stack choice is limited by crap documentation. *sigh* Coding hasn't been fun for quite some time... probably because of my tendency to hustle, especially when my patience is wearing thin. A screenshot of #Mensago Connect. Most of it's a no-op, but to have the layout and styling for the notetaking section mostly done and looking this good, it feels *great*, especially considering where I was and how I felt Sunday night trying to make this.
#webdev, it do be like this. :/

After almost a month of learning about #Javascript, HTML, #Svelte, and #Tauri, I spent about 6 hours today at the keys, failing miserably to get much of anything accomplished on #Mensago Connect. Really feeling like a failure right now.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me get going on the #Frontend stuff. Anyone willing to point me in the right direction and help me solve some of the problems I'm having?

After months researching, searching, testing, and trying, #Mensago Connect has a clear way forward. Hit the link to find out how!
Brain has been on overload lately. Learning #JavaScript as fast as I can, figuring out #Tauri and #Svelte and, when I don't actually feel like coding, tinkering with designing a new programming language.
I'm going to be really glad when I can stop cramming my brain and actually write some code for #Mensago Connect.
#Mensago #svelte #Tauri #JavaScript
I've tentatively settled on Tauri and Svelte as the base for writing #Mensago Connect. With that said, I've got of studying to do and have been updating my knowledge of #JavaScript.
TIL that in JavaScript there is such a thing as negative zero. (-0). Seriously.
This seems like such a facepalm moment that I have no words. I also think I'm going to have a sore forehead for a while. 😏
