"Very high pollen levels and hot weather are conspiring to bring discomfort to hay fever sufferers across the country, with the Met Office saying climate change could make pollen seasons longer and more extreme."

was a cool, damp and dull month in Southern as the above provisional anomaly maps show (compared with 1991-2020 averages).

For my own data I still use 1981-2010 for comparison - very average April indeed!

@SomaFMrusty Being able to edit posts easily and non-intrusively is a great feature of Mastodon atm :) As a foreigner I predict that your next storm will be 'South to southeast, four or five, occaisionally six at first. Good for a time, turning poor later. Dogger, Fisher, German Bight. Cromerty southwest one thousand and two losing its identity'
This has been the courtesy of the at oh one hundred hours.

Modern app design needs to change. Most apps seem to rely on permanent internet connections. What happens if there’s no connection?

will present you with a location code, but it could do with caching a lightweight map for confirmation.

will blank the screen if no connection. Old data is better than no data.

gives you no functionality if you’re not logged in.

I know we don't like Twitter being brought here normally, but I think this is pretty cool.

I posted about the February UK weather data yesterday, and I replied under the Met Office's tweet it would be interesting to know how close the monthly temperature was to breaking the record before the past few days of 'normal' values.

I had forgotten it, but in the last hour I received a reply to little me from them, who even produced a graph with it.

Very cool imo.

Strangely, there have been no named storms so far this Autumn/Winter season in the UK – we can normally expect at least three.
When you live on the coast, a storm can be a truly mesmerising spectacle.
