@teasbookwriting It's not too hard as it may first seem. You've seen how many folk are putting pen to paper here, so dive into their posts reply, browse their profiles, add them. If you're looking for something specific, say #horror, then type the #hashtag into the search box and browse the results - you'll get to see others who have posted using that tag. Post a toot with the #MetaPen tag if you'd like us to help guide you to a specific genre or hobby.
@emulholland Looks like the #KitLit and #MG tags are getting some attention, are these any help?

If you come across anyone else looking for specific communities, ask them to post with the #MetaPen tag and we'll see if we can help!
@wordsmith @szattwellauthor Yeah, I think it's a good idea. We might be able to build a glossary/list of common tags for folks #writers and #editors in this instance, and using #MetaPen to thread them all together can make them easier to find. My instinct in this thread was to see which tags were being used most frequently and identify them, but we might turn to outright coinage, too, like you did with #MetaPen.
@graythebruce @doucette515 @wordsmith pardon my ignorance, what’s #MetaPen?
I’m happy to help! How are you finding traffic data?
So far we have #WritingCommunity (general looping in/this was what we used on Twitter/can hopefully be a catch-all for people who joined other instances but want to participate) and #Writerschat + #Writerscafe for discussion (“what do you think of [WIP questions],” “I have thoughts on querying,” etc.).
#writerscafe #writerschat #writingcommunity #Metapen
Aha! Thanks, @wordsmith. The #MetaPen tag is helpful. Good to know! I do suspect that for writers and editors to find each other (which is a lot of what they use SM for) some of the kinds of tags I was describing will have to evolve and percolate. We all love conversation, but a lot of that conversation ends up being "Who's writing?" "Who's publishing?" "What are they looking for?" Not promotion so much as networking and market updates. :-)
Looking for specific #writing topics that don't seem to be covered by your #WritingCommunity? Dip your nib into the #MetaPen tag, tell us what you're looking for and we'll find you and see if we can help!
Fancy helping out with curation? Pin the #MetaPen tag to your app or the WebUI and jump in to any conversations looking for help.

@graythebruce The Fedi is more geared towards conversation than sending out news links so that may explain why you're not finding much interest for that. As for genres, if you're not finding anything then now is the time to start tooting with unused/unloved tags. People are likely searching those tags, finding nothing, and wandering off, rather than contributing. Perhaps we need to start a #Metapen tag for folk looking for specifics?
