This large, imposing & a very finely painted portrait of a is a rare & important

An interesting inscription reads 'The Monkey Husaini, Gift of Nawab Daud Khan'

Made c1700 AD at , this was from the Cary Welch collection sold by Bonhams for £70,000.

Daud Khan was a courtier of the Prince Mu'azzam (later Ruler Bahadur Shah-1) who presented this painting to the queen of Ruler Amar Singh.

Written in Vedas, Upnishads & Puranas in circa 100 BCE, this Book is about the interpretation of dreams related to God's, auspicious or inauspicious.

Opaque pigments heightened with Gold on paper.

This was sold by Christie's for US$ 3,000 in online sale of 25th Oct. 2016.
