So now it's official: #Mycroft, the company that wanted to produce an #OSS and #privacy friendly smart speaker, has failed.

The whole thing is extremely frustrating, as after 5 long years of back-and-forth it had actually looked like the "Mark II" project might be realised after all. But now I will likely be one of the 1000s of supporters who will go away empty-handed.

Unfortunately #MichaelLewis, Mycroft's CEO, doesn't really explain why the project failed in the end:
