The band is close to a molecular resonance of oxygen at 120 GHz, which causes significant atmospheric propagation losses, similar to that found at 60 GHz.
Due to the lack of commercial off the shelf radios, amateurs who operate on the 2.5 mm band must design and construct their own equipment.

I never thought of the #dishwasher as being an electrical hog but it is and I bet most don't think about it. Or about the #microwave. Might be an expensive bag of popcorn.

The #dishwasher and #microwave likely use more power than the induction burner. BTW, using the burner has not changed my electrical bill (I had expected it to skyrocket. It didn't)
