I somehow missed the recent news that the marvelous singer-drummer Mimi Parker had passed away. Only 55. I loved Low, an alt-rock band from my youth that, with mellow groovers such as "Lullaby" and "Fear," didn't get enough credit for their lo-fi sound. Parker was a big part of this: she was almost the missing link between Patti Smith and Lana Del Rey. Mimi Parker was a mood, man. An essence for those stuck-in-the-mud moments in life.
