Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)

It’s clear the story is made up on the spot, which somehow worked for Fallout, but not so much for this film (COVID probably made it harder if not impossible). Nevertheless, the highly enjoyable set pieces are worth it. Just not as good as Fallout.

Started rewatching the #MissionImpossible movies (probably should have done it before seeing Dead Reckoning).

Half way through so far and boy is it a mixed bag. The first three could honestly all be from completely different series. There’s no narrative or stylistic through line at all 🤷

Saw #MissionImpossible Saturday at the largest (real) IMAX on westcoast in SoCal here. Was a really good film. Doesn't top Fallout in my personal ranking of the 7 films but its definitely up there. Looking forward to Part II !!!

These guys are on a run like the Craig Bond movies. Absolutely first rate. I mean, if you don't like this kind of thing, you won't like this. But otherwise it's tense, funny as hell, even a little moving.

Saw the new #MissionImpossible last night and I liked it a lot. It’s a fun #movie with plenty of cool action scenes and stunts. The movie is kinda too long but sets the sequel up really well.

Totally awesome in IMAX, good fun.

This latest entry, DEAD RECKONING PART ONE, continues the streak, but what I appreciated most is that it does not depend on Tom Cruise for every bit of intrigue. The ensemble is every bit as important; especially our female characters, who each kick ass in their own special way.

Beautiful to look at. Unexpectedly hilarious at times. Sexy without actual implications of sex. Stylish. I frickin' loved it!
